Lambretta Gp150 Restoration Project

Hi everyone. I bought this from Resurrection Scooters in 2007 intending to restore it, Here we are in 2012 and still nothing done so after long deliberation I'm selling it. It's an Indian GP150 and Resurection tell me that all theirs are "guaranteed to start", although that might be stretching it a bit now. It does turn over OK though. I bought this one because t's got great tinware which will, with a bit of work, restore OK, You can see from the photos the state of the tinware in the engine compartment, almost no rust at all and only surface rust if there is any. The side panels have no dents and are restorable with work, not the usual lattice work.

There are some new bits with it too. Handlebar levers, a new wiring loom, a UK spec rear/brake light, a UK spec mph Lambretta speedo, headstock bearings, some trim, a new front mudguard and a complete cable set, all brand new and still in the packaging. There's a spare front hub as well.

I've also got the import documentation so there will be no trouble registering it, and the original bill of sale. The Lambretta spares catalogue and Sticky's book on how to restore it comes as well.

I really wanted to restore this, but time says I will almost never get around to it so it's up for grabs. If anyone wants to see it I'm on London Road in Leicester, and next week evenings are OK. I'm away this weekend until 3ish on Sunday afternoon but I'd be more than happy for anyone to come around then.

I think it's all complete so except refurb bits you wouldn't need to spend a lot to get it right. It's time it went to someone that has the time and effort to get on with it. By the way I'm not greedy so there's no reserve and a starting price of £90 which doesn't even come close to what it stands me at, but I know if I keep it it'll just mean another winter in the shed with nothing done.

all engine work has been done by phil varley of Torch engineering at Castleford wich is where the scooter is to be viewed there is no mot at present but te scooter will come with one when sold.

Please see the bad point in the photos there is a gap in the runner to legshields wich is bigger than normal but never been an issue to me it all depends on how fussy you are. what you need to remember is she has been around since 1960 and still retains all original features.( not a bitsa this bitsa that machine).

As you can see at some point she has been Repainted Red (originally Blue) and she actually arrived minus side panels wich is reflected in the price . But if you look past this she's Very straight and rot free. She has the correct frame and engine numbers, the engine turns over and has good compression and in my opinion once blasted or chemically dipped and prepped all the bodywork bar the front Mudguard! Should be Reusable, so making her a straight forward and economical restoration project.
